North Fork Town

Creek Council Ground

Location of Marker: On side of Foley Hill, west edge of Eufaula, McIntosh County.

It was here Confederate Commissioner Albert Pike met with Creek counselors. A Creek treaty was signed with the Confederate States on July 10, 1861, at North Fork Town, two miles east of this marker and now inundated by Lake Eufaula.

The above information is from the book, Mark of Heritage, by Muriel H. Wright, courtesy of Oklahoma Historical Society.
